The Boston Phoenix was founded in 1966 as an arts and entertainment newspaper for the 18-40 year old market. Today, with editions in Rhode Island and Portland, Maine, the Phoenix has a distribution of 265,000 and more than 600,000 readers. That makes it New Englands largest weekly and one of the nations most significant urban papers. Combining the depth of a magazine with the immediacy of a newspaper, the Phoenix runs a minimum of 120 pages per week covering a host of topics including food, pop culture, politics, fashion, gay and lesbian issues, books, and, of course, the arts.The Boston Phoenix is in the Boston, MA DMA.
