The Wilmington Journal, established in 1927, an outgrowth of R.S. Jervay Printers established in 1901, is the oldest and largest African American newspaper in southeastern North Carolina and has served the community well with news and photographs and is the newspaper of choice in addressing community concerns, issues and other features.The Wilmington Journal, a weekly newspaper, is well read and has long been looked to as a source of information by the African American community.The Wilmington Journal is published every Thursday and can be purchased at racks, vending machines, popular bookstores, and convenience stores.
